I've attempted to use the calculations (Avg. Cost, Total Cost, Avg. Basis, Total Basis, Avg. Age) derived from entered transactions off and on for a number of years without success.

Using an Excel spread sheet and computing those vales, none of the PSM values agree with the spread sheet values.

Some of this is due to things like not being able to correctly enter a Fee into PSM (the "Fee" field only shows up for Types: "Buy, Sell, Sell Short, Buy to Cover and Reinvest Div").
See the attached .jpg for a full definition of the fields available for a given type of transaction. (Incidently, this would be a handy thing to have in a User's manual).

The fees one of my accounts charges are taken out as shares at the day's price amounting to the dollar fee.
This requires entering shares, price of share, and Fee with only shares being subtracted from the total number of shares.
I've attempted to account for fees in the "Sell, Transfer Out, and Misc Expense" types but none of these account for the fee or compute correctly.

WHAT WOULD BE OF GREAT BENIFIT is a complete definition of the calculations made by PSM to arrive at the aforementioned calculations.

Also, adding another Type "Admin. Fee" with the "Shares, Price, and Fee" fields open for entries would be helpful. The calculation for this would simply subtract the number of shares from the total shares and total all the Fees for the associated Ticker. The reduced share count would then be used in all the aforementioned calculations.

Just a quick thought -- you can accomplish this fee (where the amount is subtracted from shares) by using the Reinvest Dividend, and a negative amount. I would skip the number of shares field, put the closing price used in the price field, and then make the total a negative dollar amount. It will pop up and ask you what to adjust, click on the shares. The dialog box shows this as positive shares, but once the transaction is entered, it shows a negative shares and the total shares, cost, value, etc are reduced.

Thanks for the suggestion but it doesn't keep track of fees and subtracting both shares and $ from their respective totals would be double accounting for the loss. It only needs to subtract the shares, then current price * total shares gives current value.
I'll stick with my spreadsheet, at least there I know how the computations are made.
