What happened to CL?

PSM Gold 9.3.2 (Build 368) no longer getting quotes/updating from Yahoo!

The stock is actively trading when viewed from MarketWatch.

31 other stocks are updating okay.

Thanks.

Once again, it appears that Yahoo is having database problems. I have confirmed that the Yahoo high-speed feed that we use is returning N/A for CL, as well as for BWLD and BBY, both of which are in my watch list. I'm sure there are other tickers that are having the same problem. This has been reported to Yahoo, hopefully they will fix it soon.

Hi Anatoly,

Could you post the web link that you use to find out about the current problems with the Yahoo feed?

Thank you,

-Don

There is no page where they list the current problems they are having, or anything like that. Wouldn't that be nice though? No, each problem reported by our customers has to be individually researched to determine whether it is a problem with the feed or the software. In this case, and as seems to be happening with increasing frequency, it is confirmed to be the feed. The easy way to tell is to pull up a quote on the Yahoo finance web site, (for example http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=CL&ql=1) then click the "download data" link at the bottom of the page.

I agree with Anatoly that the yahoo.com feed does seem to be struggling through problem after problem. The good news is that yahoo does after a while fix these problems - and some of the recent filters provided by Anatoly as patches are no longer needed.
Unfortunately the latest feed problem for some data not downloading is becoming more widespread (and incidentally I have been unable to download the dow jones index '^DJI' for many months from yahoo!)
In my case I get around the download problem by sorting the updated psm download by 'last update' column (which groups the non updated shares together) then change the feed to yahoo.uk and 'update this selection' group again.
The yahoo.uk feed does not seem to have the download problem although it is much slower than the US feed.

I asked because you wrote, "This has been reported to Yahoo." If there is no page, then how do you find out that it's been reported to Yahoo?

Thanks Anatoly,

-Don
