I just upgraded from a version of 6 to the current version. All my data files are txt files for each stock. I lost my main data file and the backup so all I have are the indivdual data files in end of day directory. How to I import the txt files? When I try it imports so that each day (date) of a file is listed as a security which is obviosuly incorrect. I waqnt to import the security file and all of the history or at least just the security symbol. tahnsk for the help

What happened to your old data files? The latest version can still open them. The txt files are only historical data, and the new version will import them automatically if you want to populate the historical database, but you can not recreate a portfolio from them because they do not contains any portfolio data.

The stk was saved on its own overnight with about 6 stocks thereby overwriting the previous stk file that had about 1300 stocks.

It does not import txt files automatically from the end of day directory (nor the interday directory).

What about backup files?

You can get it to import the historical data under Options->Preferences->Historical Data. It's a one-button operation to import it, but as I said it will not re-create your portfolio.
