After 11 years, we've launched an updated version of the
Personal Stock Monitor site. It's now much easier to navigate
and includes an integrated discussion forum and a blog where we
will be posting articles of interest to our users. Please

What's new in Personal Stock Monitor 9.0?
Personal Stock Monitor 9.0 is a major release that expands upon
two key areas:
1. portfolio and chart sharing in email
2. streaming quotes from TD Ameritrade and DTN iqFeed

Chart Sharing in Email
Personal Stock Monitor 9.0 expands upon the "post to
collabinvest.net and share" idea from the last release and adds
the option to send images of charts in email. If you have
Outlook installed or another "MAPI" client such as Thunderbird,
it will automatically be used when you click the SHARE button
on a chart and select Send in Email.
For those users who do not have a MAPI client such as Outlook
or Thunderbird, we've included a small email client in the
software which can be enabled by going to
Options->Preferences->CollabInvest and unchecking the "Use
MAPI" check box.
Because charts are sent as images the receiver does not need to
have Personal Stock Monitor installed in order to see them.

Portfolio Sharing in Email
This release adds a "Share" button to the main view which
allows you to conveniently send a watchlist or portfolio in
email. To view the portfolio, the receiver must have a copy of
Personal Stock Monitor GOLD installed. All they do is click on
the received attachment and the portfolio is added as a new
separate account tab in Personal Stock Monitor.
If you are managing money for someone else, picking stocks or
mentoring, this is a great way to communicate a lot of
information in a convenient easy to work with format.
Please note that by default any transaction details or alerts
are not sent. To send them along check the appropriate checkbox
after clicking SHARE.
Any alerts set on the portfolio are also sent. Please note, the
alert actions are not sent and as such have to be set once the
portfolio is imported. This will be improved upon in a future
release.
We will be expanding the sharing and collaboration options in

Streaming Quotes!
Due to popular demand, Personal Stock Monitor now supports real
time streaming data from DTN and TD Ameritrade!
Just select either from the quote server drop down and a login
dialog will be presented. You can sign up for accounts at
either company through links on the login dialog.
We hope to add many more streaming data and brokerage services
in the future. If you have any suggestions, please post them to
the discussion forum.

IMPORTANT NOTE for those using the end of day text files
To support the higher load that streaming quotes impose,
Personal Stock Monitor now uses an internal SQL database
instead of the flatfile format used by previous versions. We
have a number of customers who use those flat files in custom
applications.
If you need the flat files generated, please check the
Options->Preferences->Historical Data -> Enable History
logging.

that data. At this time this is only supported with TD
AMERITRADE. (Gold only)
. Edit Values command in right-click menu, for editing custom
column values and other columns without having to do the slow
double-click
. Copy link, open link commands in chat and conference windows,
when right-clicking on a link.
. Due to the new streaming data support, historical data is now
saved to a database. For customers using historical data file
for other purposes, this is still supported but may slow down
your system. On new installations, the default is to not save
historical data files.
. Save current chart profile when closing chart and restore when
opening new charts.
. Updated user interface with new and more colorful icons.
. Share button integrates the Send Chart To menu for
CollabInvest.net.
. If no email address is specified in an email alert action, the
email is sent to the email address configured as your email
address in the program preferences.

Bug Fixes:
. Commission and fee not saved for reinvested dividend
transactions.
. Commission and fee not applied properly for Sell to Open and
Sell to Close transactions.
. Bug in last trade time processing between noon and 1PM which
caused last trade time to be recorded one day in the future.
Affects charts.
. News headlines disappearing for some tickers, due to trap for
Yahoo blank news feeds in previous release.

UPCOMING MAJOR CHANGE
Due to the upcoming change in the options symbology, (industry
transition by February 12, 2010) Personal Stock Monitor will
support a new "neutral" options ticker format in the next
release of the software, for those data services that are
implementing the symbology changes. This new format will be
flexible enough so that it is easy to read and write, but will
also be easy for the software to convert to the internal ticker
symbol formats that the data services will be using. As of this
writing Yahoo has not yet published the new ticker symbol
format they will be using for options, but whatever it is we
will support it as soon as possible after they publish it.
